This work uses the melody of the Internationale composed by Pierre De Geyter (1848-1932), first published in France in 1888. The melody is in the public domain in the United States because it was published before 1931. The melody is in the public domain in France, where the copyright expired in October 2017 (following the expiration of the war-extended term), as well as in other countries with a copyright term of life of the author plus 80 years or less.
