== 배경 ==
《The Crimson Idol》은 완성까지 거의 3년이 걸렸으며, 원래는 [[블래키 롤리스]]의 솔로 음반으로 녹음되었다. 그러나 밴드 리더 롤리스는 팬들의 요구에 따라 이 음반을 W.A.S.P.의 이름으로 발표했다.<ref name="kerrang1991"/><ref name="metalhammer1992"/>

2017년, W.A.S.P.는 《The Crimson Idol》 발매 25주년을 기념하여 다시 한 번 음반 전체를 연주하는 투어를 진행했다. 《Re-Idolized: The 25th Anniversary of the Crimson Idol》이라는 이름이 붙은 이번 투어는 2017년 9월부터 11월까지 유럽에서 열렸다. 모든 공연에는 짧은 앙코르 세트가 있었으며, 보통 네 곡에서 다섯 곡 정도로 구성되었고, 이들은 W.A.S.P.의 대표곡 몇 곡과 2015년 음반 《[[Golgotha (W.A.S.P.의 음반)|Golgotha]]》의 타이틀곡도 함께 연주했다.
