국제환경협약 목록

국제환경협약(國際環境協約, International Convention on Environment)은 환경을 보호하기 위해 체결되는 양자간 다자간 국제협약이다. 주로 지구적 차원의 환경을 보전하기 위한 국가별 의무 또는 노력을 규정하고 있다.

환경문제는 이제 한 지역이나 한 국가의 문제가 아니라, 지구 전체의 문제가 되고 있다. 오존층의 파괴, 온실효과로 나타나는 기후 변화, 생물종의 감소 등은 대표적인 지구 환경문제이다. 이에 따라 국제환경분쟁이 많이 발생했으며, 이를 해결하고자 많은 국제환경협약이 맺어지고 있다. 우루과이라운드 이후 그린라운드가 새로운 무역 규제 장벽으로 등장하면서, 국제환경협약에 관한 관심이 계속 높아지고 있다.

1933년부터 현재까지 지구 대기의 보전, 유해 물질 규제, 동·식물보호, 해양 환경 보전, 수질 보전, 자연 보전 등에 관해 이미 체결되었거나 추진 중에 있는 국제환경협약은 모두 170여개에 이른다.
