일본지진학회(일본어: 日本地震学会 니혼지신갓카이[*]), 정식 명칭 공익사단법인 일본지진학회(일본어: 公益社団法人日本地震学会) 또는 SSJ는 일본에서 지진 및 기타 지진 현상에 대한 이해를 증진하는 것을 목표로 하는 학회 (전문가 단체)이다.

역사

존 밀린은 1880년 제임스 앨프리드 유잉, 토머스 로마 그레이[1], 토마스 코윈 멘덴홀[2]과 함께 일본에서 지진학회를 설립했다.[3] 이들은 도쿄 제국대학(현재 도쿄 대학)[1]에서 가르치던 메이지 시대 일본의 외국인 고용 고문(오야토이 가이코쿠진)이다.[4]

학회의 창립 회장은 핫토리 이치조이다.[5]
