컴퓨팅에서 여러 셸들은 현재의 세션 중에 사용자가 입력한 명령어들의 기록을 유지한다. history 명령어는 명령 히스토리 목록과 함께 동작한다. 옵션 없이 이 명령어를 사용하면 히스토리 목록을 출력한다. 사용자는 히스토리 목록 표시와 히스토리 항목을 조작하기 위해 명령어에 여러 옵션을 지정할 수 있다.
